We have the best DeFelsko tools to measure paint thickness on metal and aluminum and their ultrasound measuring unit for plastic, fibreglass and carbon fibre.
Unfortunately much damage can be done to the vehicle by just "buffing" scratches and imperfections out. By removing too much clear/paint it compromises the coating and overall failure can occur months after the work was done.
